Do you know anyone interested in returning to practice as a clinical scientist?

Thursday, 02 November 2017

Are you a healthcare scientist or allied health professional that has left the profession? Are you interested in returning to practice? If the answer is yes, then a recent initiative announced by the Government, in alliance with the Department of Health and Health Education England (HEE), is just for you.

The aim of the programme is to support healthcare scientists (HCS) and allied health professionals (AHP) whose registration has lapsed, or those who have not registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) for over 5 years since qualifying, to return to the work place and the HCPC register. The programme will also inform those wishing to return to practice about placement opportunities with potential employers, and both you and the employer will have access to financial support and advise. You will also be able to talk to past and present returners for support.

The programme is also looking for providers/employers who can support returning HCS and AHP's with clinical placement days, which will allow them to update their skills and knowledge in line with the HCPC guidance of return to practice.

The programme is aiming to achieve its target of 80 returnees by March 2018 and a further 220 between April 2018 and March 2019.
