The National School of Healthcare Science (NSHCS) has been approved by the Education and Skills Funding Agencyto offer the endpoint assessment (EPA) for the Level 4 Healthcare Science (HCS) Associate Apprenticeship Standard.

The School will act as a focus for the Healthcare Science Apprenticeship Programme and will coordinate further communication and information, as implementation of these Standards moves forward. It should be noted that the Level 2 and Level 4 Diplomas, which provide the underpinning learning for apprenticeships at this level, also provide the opportunity for those in the current career framework 2-4 healthcare science workforce to develop and undertake formal programmes of training, resulting in a recognised qualification.

Healthcare Science Standards and end-point assessments

The published Standards and end-point assessments are available below. Currently there is only one awarding body available for the Level 2 and Level 4 apprenticeship diplomas. There are several universities developing Level 6 healthcare science degree apprenticeships.
