An ASP programme involves work based learning with academic study of modules from NSHCS portfolio programmes. Academic study is completed independently through an accredited University provider.

To propose an ASP, employers must complete and submit the ASP Proposal Form to the NSHCS including agreement from at least one NSHCS accredited University to provide the academic component of the proposed ASP programme.

Trainees may enrol at any NSHCS accredited University currently providing the relevant curriculum. Enrolment at the University and payment for the academic study are the responsibility of the Employer and Trainee. Academic study must be carried out within the same timeframe as the ASP Programme.
