STP Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering Open Day - Newcastle

Time: 12.30pm - 4.00pm

The Northern Training Consortium is holding an open day to provide information to prospective NHS Scientist Training Programme (STP) trainees in Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering. The event will outline the structure of the STP, placements covered by both Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering programmes, the career afterwards and application tips.

The event will run from 12.30pm (registration opens at 12.00pm) until 4.00pm. There will be also be several opportunities to talk to current trainees and professionals in the field in an informal setting to find out what life is really like as a Clinical Scientist. You can also book a place on one of the departmental tours (Medical Physics or Clinical Engineering) which will run from 4.30 until 5.30pm. The minimum entry requirements for the STP is a 2.1 in your chosen specialism.

We're hoping to recruit trainees to the following areas:

  • Medical Physics (4 trainees of unspecified specialism)
  • Clinical Engineering (1 trainee in Device Risk Management & Governance)
  • Clinical Bioinformatics (1 trainee)
  • Ophthalmic and Vision Science (1 trainee)
  • Clinical Pharmaceutical Science (1 trainee)
